We have been wishing for whiskey barrels for quite some time but haven’t had the time to drive to a distillery. Well, lucky for us, 2 fellow beer folks brought 4 back to us from the Jack Daniels Distillery. Tonya and Nathan just moved here from San Diego and picked up the barrels while passing through TN. We are beyond elated. We immediately filled 2 with Blackbeerd the Imperial Stout and the other 2 who knows……Scotch Ale? The smell of thos ebarrles goes down as one of the best smells I have ever encountered……bourbon, vanilla and oak- a dream.
Now for the hard part……………… forget about all that I just said for a few months. Then, when it is all ready and yummy, it will be a big surprise!

We are so excited to finally have a great beer store here in Charleston. They are doing growler fills of a few of our beers and we couldn’t be happier. Remember a few things though: our beer is unpasteurized, usually unfiltered and a growler fill is fresh but it isn’t a bottle. It should be kept refrigerated, we recommend you drink it within 3 days and once opened drink up!

We’re now on tap at Barley’s Taproom in Greenville. It will be a rotating tap, probably seasonals (right now the Rye Brown). I can’t promise all the time availabilty, but , still, we’re on! It is our first venture outside of Charleston and wanted to go with a bar that is serious about their beers. We’d like to do a special event sometime in the future there as well( cask?!). I look forward to actually going to Greenville and checking out Barley’s!
