fun with wood, new legislation, new tanks ….COAST gets busy!
January 27, 2009
COAST has been busy since we got up and running 14 months ago. Thanks so much to our local beer lovers for the huge amount of support and consumption! Here is a quick run down of upcoming things for this year:
2 new tanks due to arrive in March- which means more beer for you (and us!). We are on the fence about purchasing a small bottler so we can put out our 22 ozers a whole lot more. If your like us we don’t go out very often but prefer to stay home some with a good brew. We’ll see …persuade us one way or the other as we can’t decide.
Pop the Cap SC has become the SC Brewer’s Association to better realize our new goals. Check it out for the next bit of legislation we will have coming up next month. Here’s to better beer laws (and more beer and breweries) in 2009! You know you want us to become a brewpub so you can come have a pint with us!!! Help us make that happen.
Thanks to Bobby Congdon for the website, he’ll be working on the new site getting it up to speed.
Our barrel aged Blackbeerd will be debuting in February some time. If you like woody, vanilla and light whiskey notes, your in for a real treat. VERY limited on draft and a good bit bottles. Stay tuned for more on that.
A new shipment of homebrew supplies came in yesterday. And finally some whole hops for ya’ll.
Some seasonal beer ideas for this year are a barrel aged Scotch Ale, Double IPA and a what beer. This may be the year we give a belgian beer a go…or not. Who Knows.
One bad piece of news: Barley prices have finally stabilized, but not for Organic, they went up …again! We’re still committed to using organic grains so lets hope that doesn’t get much worse. Cheers!
